VBG Truck Equipment is an integral division of the VBG Group, specializing in providing high-quality solutions for the trucking industry. We had a chat with them about their success, and here’s what they had to say:

What factors do you believe have contributed most to VBG Truck Equipment’s success and growth?

VBG Truck Equipment’s success can be attributed to a combination of product innovation and excellence, customer focus, adaptability, and a dedicated team.

Can you highlight some important milestones or achievements of VBG Truck Equipment?

Our newly launched VBG Driver Assist System supports drivers during trailer coupling and provides warnings for jackknifing. This feature is an addition to our CAN-based Electrical Infrastructure.

R&D has, as far as we are aware, introduced the first Cobot in a HIL test rig to automate testing. That simulates e.g. a truck moving towards a stationary trailer or a jackknifing event. Test scripts or trace item files are automatically generated from SystemWeaver.

How does SystemWeaver support agile methods or approaches in VBG Truck Equipment’s project management?

SystemWeaver plays a crucial role in maintaining quality and traceability, even when implementing Agile methods. By consistently updating requirements based on new insights and directions from our Agile work, we gain visibility into how changes affect decomposition, derived requirements, and corresponding test cases. This ensures a comprehensive understanding of the impact of any modifications.

Can you give examples of how SystemWeaver has improved VBG Truck Equipment’s operations?

The adoption of the new SystemWeaver workflow meta-model has enabled us to create precise instructions for executing process steps within SystemWeaver. These instructions align with the content in our Operation Manual. This transition represents a significant improvement over the previous approach of relying solely on textual guidelines.

Looking ahead, what are VBG Truck Equipment’s plans for future growth?

In our SystemWeaver initiatives, we have exciting plans to incorporate SystemWeaver into the realms of Functional Safety and Cybersecurity. Furthermore, our continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) efforts will seamlessly integrate SystemWeaver with our other essential toolchains.

VBG Truck Equipment is actively transitioning toward electronics and software solutions to create a harmonious future where freight transport is both efficient and environmentally responsible.

5 Realities of AI in Modern Cybersecurity

Every vendor in security claims AI changes everything. Ask the engineers actually building these systems and a different story comes up: a context gap. The AI returns a threat analysis that reads well and sounds confident but has little connection to the product.  That is where a recent conversation with Anders Hallgren and Marcus [...]

The central question during this workshop was one that matters more as engineering complexity grows: "How does AI fit into systems engineering without eroding control, traceability, or engineering accountability?" The answer is not to add AI as a black-box layer on top of engineering work. It is to ground AI in structured engineering context, [...]
